‘LUST | Oud Delice evokes the deepest realms of sensuality and desire. The intoxicating allure of Dark Chocolate, Hazelnut, and Walnut, mirrors the magnetic pull between two souls craving one another. In the heart, Orris Concrete, Benzoin Resin, and Cypriol Heart weave a tapestry of sophistication and passion. The base notes of Oud Assafi, Sandalwood Spicatum, and Sensual Musks lingers, creating an indelible trail, like the lingering touch of a lover. Lust captures the essence of deep, carnal desire—an olfactory masterpiece that resonates with the profound connection between two hearts.’ – Chris Collins
I’ve always found Chris Collins to be a solid brand, but it seems to be on a roll in 2024. One that really impressed me was the daring Kingmaker – Master Of Oud. Lust – Oud Delice isn’t quite as exciting to me, but still a nice addition to the brand’s line-up.
This opens with a very distinct dark chocolate. It’s sweet, but also bitter, dry, nutty. Not a easy-going, milky chocolate or an overly sweet one, but about as dark as they come, while still smelling like actual chocolate. And this lasts for quite a while, which is something that is not always evident in perfumes.
It’s not all sweet (and woody); there’s a hint of fruity or even florals to my nose; just as you would in an actual dark chocolate. You also get the iris.
Lust Oud Delice isn’t a cozy gourmand. It becomes quite harsh, as mentioned dry, quite woody and linear for a good chunk of the wear. It won’t be a safe option for everyone, but I think it’s excellent.
