Good milky, lactonic notes in fragrance are hard to find and I was looking forward to trying out Lumiere Blanche, because it seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately it wasn’t quite what I was looking for as far as the milky note, however I do think it’s an interesting and pleasant fragrance.
Lumiere Blanche opens with a lot of spices, a nutmeg-like cardamom and anise, which gives a more minty edge. It’s counteracted by a lot of sandalwood, which gives it a creamy texture, as well as almond (milk).
It’s not an overly sweet fragrance. Tonka is listed, but it doesn’t reach gourmand levels of sweetness at all, it’s more of a spicy sandalwood, with what I perceive to be an herbal touch. Otherwise, it has a subtle musky scent.
The more it dries down, the more powdery it becomes, although the creaminess from the sandalwood remains present and it balances the textures overall. But this is a soft fragrance, especially for how pronounced the spices are at first.
