‘Paris. 1870 – 2023. 4:10 AM. Immobile journey on a Lo-Fi beat. Homage to artificial paradises, infinite source of inspiration for cursed poets of yesterday and today. A lascivious, bewitching and liquorous BPM flow. ‘ – L’Orchestre Parfum
Generally I really like the house of L’Orchestre Parfums, although the like to dislike ratio has gotten a lot less favorable with their more recent releases. Unfortunately, for me Liqueur BPM is probably my least favorite from the collection so far.
This is the embodiment of the often skewed hypermodern ‘amberwood’ perfume. It’s a rather sweet, but harsh and one dimensional woody accord. The signature scent here is hard to describe, but once you’ve smelled it, it will be familiar and I for one, think it’s probably the worst trend in contemporary perfumery.
Here the sweetness is enough to make it somewhat enjoyable as an overall scent for me and it definitely has a boozy undertone throughout. Yet, it doesn’t excite me and it gets tiring to wear after several hours. Definitely more pleasant in scent, than for example Frederic Malle Uncut Gem, but it falls into the same category style wise. Scent-wise it’s like taking 20% of the overall profile of Nasomato Baraonda and amplify that without development for hours on end.
