Limewood does what it’s name implies; lime and wood (and a lot of vetiver to my nose).
It opens really beautifully, with the patchouli and vetiver having an almost chocolately earthy tinge. The lime here is quite powerful, perhaps sacrificing a bit of smoothness for performance; it’s loud, a tad harsh and will last for a good chunk of the wear. The best comparison that I can make for the lime specifically is Xerjoff Renaissance.
It doesn’t take long for the scent to become more earthy, while the fragrance as a whole transitions into its core; green herbal vibes. The clary sage and I assume artemisia take over the heart of this composition, with a green, yet bright (the lime is still there) quality; combining forest with sunlight and overall it’s more so an uplifting fresh scent, than a damp or heavy green one.
Texture wise I find it to be on the dry airy side; of course there’s the citrus, but after the opening minutes it’s more ozonic than liquid. As mentioned though, it performs very well for that style.
It grows too green for my personal taste in the drydown and for that performance, you’re sacrificing a lot of smoothness; I found the wear a bit harsh and grating. Not one of my favorites.
