I enjoyed L’Homme Ideal, although I didn’t find the opening to be particularly pleasant. The scent is nice enough, but I would’ve preferred it to be smoother.
There’s an amaretto accord in this that smells really nice. The composition reminded me of Valentino’s excellent Uomo Intense, but more boozy. The drydown is better than the opening to my nose and it’s longevity is solid for a fragrance in it’s class.
It’s a bit powdery and it’s not doing anything special, but it’s pleasant nonetheless. I wish L’Homme Ideal had the well-blended roundness of some of the other Guerlain’s that I’ve tried. Especially some of the older Guerlain bottles for their more reasonably priced fragrances can feel luxurious for their price tage, but the whole L’Homme Ideal line falls more in line with your average designer releases.
