‘Francis Kurkdjian reinterprets the rose with masculine overtones to bring you l’Homme À la rose eau de parfum for men. Immediately, intensely fresh green notes of grapefruit fuse with the essence of Damascena rose from Bulgaria. This natural and vital force then gives way to rosy and woody heart notes which are gradually reinforced with amber woody facets leaving a sensual trail. With this fresh and light l’Homme À la rose eau de parfum, Francis Kurkdjian brings today’s man the power behind to wear a rose.’ – Maison Francis Kurkdjian
I had high hopes for L’Homme a la Rose since I love rose fragrances and a masculine marketed rose release is always welcome. However, I had heard few good words about this release and I’m afraid I have to agree.
It opens with a bitter and green citrus and a tinge of rose, mixed with a watery quality that smells highly synthetic (like a mix of ambroxan and kalone perhaps). It’s clean and bright, but not my taste at all and didn’t enjoy my wearing of it.
