Lhasa Rose 1924 is my first dive into Himo Jomo and it’s a good one. It walks a fine line between keeping the freshness and different sides of rose, while being quite mature, woody and spicy at the same time.
Not dark, but somewhat dusty and powdery. I feel like the combination of pink pepper and sandalwood adds a paper-like quality to this fragrance. I could even see some dry coconut vibes when I smell my skin up close. But all of that is underneath a nice soft rose that feels equal parts red and green to my nose.
There is a faint hint of sour, and a subtle sweetness. There’s a faint hint of saltiness and of smokiness. Of course, this is going by the notes presented to us, but I do feel like you can at least imagine all the aspects that are promised in this fragrance, yet all in subtle, understated ways. Which is how Lhasa Rose 1924 wears in general.
I don’t have a good reference to compare it to off the top of my head. The spiciness at one point reminded me of a more subtle BDK Gris Charnel EDP, but a more floral, rose-like flanker. Perhaps mixed with a bit of Amouage Epic 56/Woman.
Not as statement maker, but a classy rose that delivers a great first impression for Hima Joma to me.
