‘”Le Pari d’Honfleur” opens with Guatemalan Cardamom, Fig, and Violet, leading into a heart of Tonka Bean, Papyrus, and Coconut. A base of Sandalwood, Cedarwood, and Musk completes this amber-woody fragrance. A tribute to friendship and the beauty of the French coast, “Le Pari d’Honfleur” evokes timeless memories shared between two great friends.’ – Eight & Bob
While I like Le Pari D’Honfleur more than Le Trou 19 Du Phare, it’s definitely not my favorite of the 2025 Eight & Bob additions.
This one opens green, in a grassy manner. For a brief moment I thought it would go more Summery, citrussy, with something that registers as mimosa to me. However, it becomes clear that this is a full-on fig-centric scent shortly after.
The quality here seems nice, but it’s a very straight-forward, linear fig scent. The main ‘tinge’ to it, I’d say is grassy, but otherwise it’s a vibrant, bold, bordering on harsh, green fruity fig. It doesn’t get as lactonic or oily as many other fig fragrances (it’s not as smooth as my favorite, Essential Parfums Fig Infusion for example).
It’s hard to go wrong with fig, and Le Pari D’Honfleur is a fragrance that I wouldn’t mind wearing, but at the same time, I don’t consider it as a great option in a field of dozens of popular and readily available fig fragrances.
