Larmes Du Désert is Atelier Des Ors’ ode to the Middle East and that’s definitely something I can picture while smelling it. It’s a darker, woody incense.
I imagine this is how an old library, with wooden floors would smell like. It’s a dry textured fragrance, but not powdery and I get a balance between cooler and warmer elements. The sweetness is understated, which I think is nice. I love fully sweet incense fragrances, but it’s nice to get something different from Larmes Du Désert. I don’t know where it’s coming from, looking at the notes, but the sweetness that I get reminds me of pastry. I’d say this ends up being 50/50 incense and woods.
I’m far from an expert on telling woods apart, but cypress is listed as one of the main notes here, so I expected more of a greener, pine-like vibe, which is not at all what I smell (luckily for me).
