‘This spicy oud has an intense and slightly earthy woody heart, it is illuminated with incense and amber and the cistus, vanilla tonka and grey amber give it a warm, resinous and balsamic base. Like the King of Gods, this scent is an unapologetic statement demanding attention. Jupiter, the King of the Gods was revered and feared in equal measures. Highly temperamental, he ruled the heavens armed with the mighty thunderbolt, said to be the most powerful weapon among the gods. He rescued his siblings from death, led the victorious battle of Titans and overthrew his father for the throne. Like Jupiter, well known for amorous pursuits, this scent is powerful, vigorous and seductive.’ – Electimuss
As with most Electimuss releases, Jupiter feels quite dense and regal. There’s more saffron that i would like, but it feels like just spicy saffron, and not the full leathery experience (luckily). What I love about Jupiter is the sweetness.
Straight away it has an oudy, slightly earthy, very warm vibe, but it’s blended with the right amount of sweetness and acidity.
I would definitely qualify this as a ‘sexy’, date-night type of scent. Very woody and heavy, but at the same time quite smooth. The sweetness and thickness remind me a little bit of the chocolate patchouli from Pomona Vitalis at first, but quickly goes a bit more candied and juicy, and also turns into more of a honey fragrance on my skin. Especially the late drydown is hours of a honey-esque sweetness that’s very pleasant.
One of the better Electimuss for me.
