Jump Up And Kiss Me Ecstatic is probably one of my favorites from Clive Christian, although I’m not sure how often I would wear it.
When smelling this up close, it can be very sharp. The tuberose and jasmine have an almost hair-spray like quality to my nose, but in the air it’s much more forgiving and fruity.
There’s a hint of a sun tan lotion in here, probably due to the ylang ylang and orange blossom, but the floral is almost animalic at first. Later it becomes more easy going and ‘bubblegummy’ with more of a sweet base coming through. As it dries I get a custardy vanilla (more so than any sandalwood or tonka that is listed by the brand).
That being said, there is something heady and daring to Ecstatic that puts this over many a simpler, yet similar fragrance. People have compared this to fragrances like Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy, but I don’t think that’s doing it justice at all; this is way sharper and more daring. but ultimately Ecstatic has ‘something’ that keeps me intrigued, however not at its retail price.
