I was recommended Joyeux Osmanthe as a possible link to One Day Osmanthus Tea. I definitely see the connection, although they are quite different as an overall feeling.
The osmanthus is similar, in the sense that it’s an almost candied, candy-like edible osmanthus. It’s sweet and playful. Here no tea is listed, but it’s not a stretch to imagine it. You mostly get a slightly green bitterness next to the osmanthus at first.
Two major things happen when it develops; one is a pretty large floral presence. It’s more on the blossoming, bright, feminine side for me; like a non-indolic jasmine, not so much the tuberose or rose.
The second big change is the ever growing fruitiness. Osmanthus has a peachy element, but here it’s aided by apricot and nectarine and it’s definitely coming through as a sweet fruitiness throughout.
It’s a great combination. As with the One Day, this sort of candied sugary osmanthus isn’t my favorite rendition of the note, but they overall fragrance is definitely great for me.
