I only recently learned about Worth, but it’s a brand with an interesting story. It was a big fashion house in the 1800s to early 1900’s, which had a boutique in the same street as the Dior boutique in Paris for example.
This Je Reviens released a couple of years after their first perfumes and is their most famous offering. I have a presumably very vintage miniature of it, so I think time has affected it quite a bit, but it was a really nice wear.
What I get from this is mostly an oily, smooth orange-tinged floral with heliotrope-esque powderines, although looking at the notes, that’s likely just iris with florals.
I’m under the assumption that my vial lost some of the top notes for sure, as it seems to skip to a base-like consistency texture wise. It’s slightly dewy and as mentioned, oily. There are some really high-pitched florals, but they seem to have lost their sharpness.
Instead, it’s almost like an orange blossom candle. It’s very pleasant and zen-like, with soft spices and a sort of semi-dissolved handsoap. Then again, it’s definitely also powdery on me. Reminded me a bit of the Diamond Jubilee Bouquet by Grossmith that I wore the same week as this, although you can definitely feel the effect that aging has had on the textures in the Worth.
