Jaspé is described as a woody aromatic. It opens really bright, with citrus. There’s also the instant ‘masculine’ leaning lavender, that gives it bit of an old-school nod. Definitely not one of the best fragrances in the Teo Cabanel range in my opinion.
The really fresh opening lasts only minutes, before the scent settles down to a greener and spicier aromatic. Of course with the lavender, it leans towards a fougere, but I think the spices are more prominent later in the wear, nutmeg in particular.
Don’t get the wrong idea, this is still pretty fresh in the drydown. The only downside for me, is what I would call a ‘slightly dirty water’ scent (I also get it in Acqua Di Gio Profumo). It doesn’t smell bad, especially in the air, but when I put my nose to skin, it does remind me a bit of wet dog.
It’s fresh, yet gentlemanly. Jaspe is subtle, but not fleeting. If you like fragrances like Parfums de Marly Sedley, Jaspé may be option to give a try.
