‘Early fall when jasmine falls. Stream of water slides into the white porcelain. The elegant flow of flowers concentrates time and slows time. As the tea washes the room with a green soft floral aroma, take a sip. In each wash you taste something different—the cycle of soil, a cycle of life, all dewy and fragrant. Spring sprouts, late summer blooms. Flower that closes at day and opens at night, emits a gentle fragrance into the dried leaves. Leaf and petals of 1OO flowers layer and become one. Three seasons as one. In one cup. On one day. ‘ – One Day

While Oolong Tea is my favorite from the One Day teas collection, Jasmine Tea is probably my second pick from this line. I’d say this one feels like a middle ground for that collection, here’s why:

Jasmine Tea is probably the most familiar smelling one, as the others are quite unique. However, the quality is top notch.

The opening is a tad bitter, more so than you get in most fragrances similar to it. Almost indolic, but very much like the bitterness of tea leaves. It’s on the green side with a smoky edge.

It does feel quite clean and transparent. After a while it becomes softer and smoother too. The sweetness is there from the start, but it’s very moderate. Just a subtle touch of a soft, honey-like sweetness to take the edge of.

This to me is probably closest to Oolong Tea from this line, but Oolong Tea is a bit more unique and a tad sweeter as well. On the other hand Pu’Er Tea is smokier and Osmanthus Tea is more playful. Jasmine Tea sits in between all of them and that’s not a bad thing.

If you love either jasmine or tea fragrances, definitely keep an eye out for this one.
