Iris Malikhan is a rather unique take on the note of iris, that I really appreciate.
From all the iris scents I have tried, Iris Malikhan has one of the stronger carrot-like openings. It’s very different from Xerjoff Irisss and Gallivant Bukhara, which already have a strong sense of carrot. It’s almost like it’s a warmer, more vegetal carrot in the Maison Crivelli.
The opening is intresting, but not my favorite element. That’s before drying down to something sweeter and smokier that really sets this fragrance off in a great direction. It’s hard to describe it, but it’s like sweet iris smoke that engulfs the wearer in a way Mancera Cedrat Boise‘s smoky drydown does for fruitiness. I get a hint of a nutty scent as well. Sweet, but never going really gourmand.
Initially I did not get much leather from Iris Malikhan, but I’ve come around to that. It’s still not the main player for me, but it has a leather edge throughout.
