I was forewarned about the strength of Interlude Man, so I went with one good spray on the wrist as a taste…and I’m glad that I did. You have to be ready for Interlude Man; it’s a beautiful fragrance, but it’s more grating than I expected. A tad daring (I get a strong leathery note) and the oregano is very pungent and prominent.
It’s smooth after the initial punch to the nose though. As opposed to the usual drydown, Interlude Man seems to get fresher during the first hour. This is a fragrance that’s hard to rate after one testdrive, but it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Also, you have to be comfortable with standing out in a crowd, because this fragrance will fill up the room for hours after applying it to your skin and it will survive a quick shower as well.
The DNA is not for me. I think Interlude Black Iris is only marginally better for me and Interlude 53 is definitely my favorite of the series so far.
