VANILLA ICE CREAM
Inside Out was a pleasant surprise, albeit one that reminds me of fragrances that I’ve smelled (Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy or Unique’e Luxury Instanbul for example), but it’s different enough. It is a gourmand floral like the aforementioned fragrances, but Inside Out takes it a step further and smells eerily close to ice cream.
‘Ice cream’ and ‘sorbet’ are listed notes and it delivers on that. To be honest, most of the other notes elude me or are in the background. The one thing that stands out next to the (vanilla) ice cream is the tropical, floral touch of frangipani. The herbal/green side of artemisia, basil and rosemary I barely detect; maybe they add to the ‘icy’ feel. I was a bit hesitant in choosing Inside Out, because of the green and aromatic elements, but this is close to a full-on gourmand to my nose.
As I get adjusted to the sweetness, I get a remnant of fruitiness from the passionfruit and blackcurrant. Maybe, just maybe I catch some whiffs of herbs at this stage, but if so, it’s probably because I read the notes.
It is reminiscent of many other scents, but I think it executes the ice cream scent better than most others that I’ve smelled. Definitely a crowd-pleaser.
