Imperium is often described as Creed Aventus mixed with Nishane Ani… and that’s pretty much exactly what this is. It’s an Aventus-esque fruity and smoky opening. It’s an unmistakable DNA with a watery texture and if that’s what you’re into, you won’t be misled with Imperium. It doesn’t list the Aventus birch, but it has coriander and saffron creating a similar, albeit bit harsh tinge.
Ani comes into the picture with the vanilla. I went for Imperium, mainly as an alternative to Ani, but it will not fully give you the Ani experience. As it dries the vanilla, which smells very similar, pushes through more, but it remains a more Summery take on the DNA. In the opening it might be more 70% Aventus and 30% Ani, whereas it pulls more even later in the wear.
Fruity, smoky, sweet but not cloying and bright enough for warm days. I think this is a great way to separate a little bit from the Aventus-DNA (as Cedrat Boise does as well), although obviously originality is not this fragrance’s strong suit. Performance seems to be average for me, with a piercing opening, but a relatively mild drydown.
With the price you can sometimes find Imperium at (retail is €185/100ml) and it’s magnificent presentation, it’s one that I think will gain a lot more attention in the community in the following years and it could be the fragrance that puts Electimuss on the map firmly. I do find it to get pretty harsh and I don’t think it wears as nicely as Aventus or even Cedrat Boise, so I ended up selling my bottle eventually.
