This is an amazing warmer weather scent, that’s different from most freshies or citrus, well, while also smelling like Creed Aventus.
It has an almost non-acidic citrus smell, like a lemon flavored water. It’s also slightly green, so it goes in the direction of a melon scent to my nose. Blackcurrant and ambergris are prominent. There’s no pineapple and no smokiness to my nose, so it differs from Aventus there.
It’s also nothing like Cedrat Boise, which has much more pronounced fruits, smokiness and even sweetness. It smells closer to a watered down Elysium Parfum Cologne for me.
I.Mirage 23 has a more watery texture, with cedarwood in the base and in the drydown it becomes musky. There’s a real depth to this, which I think can be attributed in part to the ambergris; it’s great for warmer weather, but it has enough body to carry it in colder weather as well. There’s leather and vanilla in the notes as well, but I can (gladly) say that those scents aren’t really noticeable for me.
It keeps it brightness and juiciness throughout, which is nice, but I wish it lasted a bit longer. I do think the IO.KO is a bit more interesting than Elysium for example; it’s less ‘blue’ and more on the greener and floral side. I enjoyed it.
