Hayra took some getting used to and I pretty much had to dissect this fragrances into 3 elements to make sense of it for myself.
First of all and most importantly, Hayra is a greenish foresty bomb. Earthy oakmoss, fresh dewy greens, overall a bit damp, but not in a (for me) daring way.
In the opening it’s brighter; with lime being a prominent smell. Some people have mentioned a cola tinge and I can see that as well.
What really sets this fragrance apart however is the darkest layer. I get a deep, dark almost animalic spiciness. I also get quite a lot of sweetness, which other reviewers don’t seem to get (my sample had been sitting for almost 2 years, so it could be aged nicely). I get a sweet, smokiness that reminds me a bit of the work of Russian Adam or Ensar Oud. On the other hand, I don’t get the aquatic style that other people have credited to this.
Hayra will serve people who like their 80’s, 90’s mossy scents well. It’s a fragrance with a great depth and above average performance based on my testing so far.
