I thought Hacivat was okay, but I prefer its inspiration, Aventus over the greener, harsher Hacivat (I couldn’t care less about it being a better performer, but if that’s your thing, Hacivat does offer that). Hacivat X ended up being barely wearable to me as it dried down to an almost herbal screechy base. As most of the Nishane X line, I found it worse than its original. So my hopes for Hacivat Oud were small; I was expecting this to take another step further in the X direction and get harsher or amber woody to an unwearable level. Luckily for my nose, I think it takes a slightly different route.

Or better yet, I think it takes a step back towards the original Hacivat. I’d have to try the different Hacivat’s side-by-side, but from memory, I feel like Hacivat Oud takes it back to the original fruity Aventus-like DNA more (or even a bit the more orange-hued fruity Absolu Aventus).

Quite fruity, still harsh, but in a fruit juice kind of way, not as much in a green or woody harshness too much up top. It’s bright and juicy enough to combat that. It has the same balance as the original Hacivat; being less watery and subtle than Aventus, and a tad greener, but pretty similar otherwise.

It still grows greener than I personally like, but not as herbal or aromatic as Hacivat X, arguably less than the original Hacivat as well. Opting for a more woody and slightly sweeter tinge instead, but it’s not worlds apart.

The texture of this fragrance as all the Hacivat’s, isn’t for me. It’s loud, screechy and seems to put a ton of focus on being an attention-grabbing and projecting fragrance, instead of on being nice and smooth. It’s not my style of perfumery.

I didn’t dislike Hacivat Oud and it’s my favorite of the Hacivat line, but I do wonder how much this adds over the original? I’d have to retry that to make up my mind, but based on my memory and this first impression, the difference isn’t as big as I expected.
