‘Hacivat Arlecchino draws inspiration from the theatrical characters shared by the Italian Commedia dell’Arte and Turkish shadow theatre: two shrewd, intelligent characters skilled at manipulating those around them. Arlecchino stands out for his colourful costume and mischievous humour, whilst Hacivat uses his culture and eloquence to guide the impulsive Karagöz. Although they come from different cultural traditions, both embody the brilliant and shrewd character who entertains the audience and, through irony, gracefully critiques society. For this new creation, NISHANE turned to Julien Rasquinet, head perfumer at CPL Aromas. The fragrance opens with an almost theatrical lightness. Pineapple is balanced by a note of chilled limoncello which, with its cool, sharp hints, evokes afternoons in southern Italy. At the heart, cedarwood and patchouli provide structure, whilst jasmine lends a touch of sensuality alongside honey. The base notes, characterised by oak moss, woody notes and vanilla, evoke the velvet and wood of an ancient theatre, empty after the audience has left.
