GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice
Loving fragrances is a potential danger to the wallet. Especially with fragrance prices rising through the roof in the past couple of years. It’s hard to define ‘affordable’, but here are fragrances that I think are good deals at maximum €100. I’ve added the prices that search results offered at a glance at the time of writing.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Geo F Trumper Sandalwood Cologne (€55/50ml)
One of my favorites in this list. Sandalwood Cologne is a spicy, masculine leaning sandalwood in the style of Chanel Egoiste. I’d argue as good, if not better as a good old batch of Egoiste. The bottle isn’t great, but this is a gem that I’ve worn a lot.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Bastille Pleine Lune (€65/30ml)
I love a small bottle, but these are well-priced also as the 50 or 100ml. A soft, sweet white floral akin to Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy, but it’s more subtle and mature, with a green (tea) tinge.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Essential Parfums Bois Imperial (€78/100ml)
You can’t go wrong with this brand. My personal favorite is Fig Infusion, but i think Bois Imperial is a big hit and it also excels in performance. Often compared to Ganymede, but to me this is mostly ‘just’ a vetiver fragrance. A great option.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Pharrell Williams GIRL (?)
In 2020 you’d find this bottle easily for under €20/100ml. It’s harder to find now, but I’m sure you can still run into it for a good price. Made in collaboration with Comme des Garcons and Antoine Lie (and KAWS for pop-art lovers), this feels like a flanker to Dior Fahrenheit. Leans more masculine despite its name.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdviceFragonard Jasmin Perle De The (€40/50ml)
Fragonard is a house with a lot of history, but it’s not talked about in the fragrance community. Despite that, they still offer excellent, affordable picks, especially in this EDP line. Jasmin Perle De The for example, is a lovely jasmine tea.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Maison Tahite Coffee Bomb (€98/100ml)
The most expensive on this list, but under a 100 for a 100ml in the niche market is becoming a rarity. Coffee Bomb is my favorite, from this excellent house (a subsidiary to Laboratorio Olfattivo). Similar in style to Montale Intense Cafe, but with actual coffee and it’s better on all fronts.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Mancera Cedrat Boise (€80/50ml)
What more needs to be said about Cedrat Boise? I don’t view it as a copy of Creed Aventus and I prefer it. Sweet, fruity, but at the same time masculine leaning and with a smoky drydown (fruity smoke). Despite being so sweet and fruity, you can still wear this to an office and it’s one of the most complimented fragrances in my collection without a doubt.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Ariana Grande Cloud (€39/50ml)
I can’t believe I’m adding Cloud to this list. But as someone who doesn’t like Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540, I thought Cloud was surprisingly wearable and preferable. Not an identical dupe for BR540 if that’s what you’re looking for though.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdviceRalph Lauren Safari EDP (€75/75ml)
This is one of the best women’s designers of all time in my book. I’d say go for a vintage second hand bottle, but you can find them at stores for around this price occasionally and I’m sure that’s still a great deal.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Nicolai New York Intense (€55/30ml)
Can we call this a classic yet? A lot of spices, but it’s a chypre that comes across as a ‘luxury soap’ to me. Gets a bit sweeter as it dries, but older batches can have a daring edge to them in my experience. Very gentlemanly.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Versatile Paris Croissant Cafe (€55/15ml)
15ml, but this is a extrait with a roll-on, that will last you quite a while. Warm, roasted, pastry with a (hint of) coffee, but more of a woody scent to me. In between Teo Cabanel Oh La La & Cafe Cabanel, which are also good deals.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Teo Cabanel Deja Vu (€59/30ml)
Speaking of Cabanel. I really like their Encore and this newer Deja Vu. Great small bottle options, but for just over a 100, you can opt for a 100ml as well.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Guerlain Homme EDP (€68/100ml)
My favorite fragrance on this list. The ‘Mojito’ scent; lime, rum, mint and vetiver. The latest batches that I’ve tried are sharper and feel less well-rounded, but it’s still a great DNA; If you can pick one up in the bottle design shown above, even better.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Areej Le Dore Gul Hina (€150/48ml)
As a bonus, one that is over the price limit, but I do think it belongs on this list. I’ve tried 2 dozen Areej Le Dore, with Gul Hina being my favorite and the most affordable. For the quality you get here and the lovely presentation, it is well-priced in my opinion.

GREAT VALUE (2023), ScentAdvice

Zara Candy Festival (?)
Another bonus, as this one can’t be purchased in stores anymore. You may still find decent deals on it on the second-hand market. Even with their low prices, Zara doesn’t really impress me usually, but Candy Festival is a fun fruity fragrance that is a great alternative to something like Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill. It retailed around €12/100ml and I picked up 3 bottles.
