‘An angular composition built like steel and glass. Gravitas Capitale unfolds with a sharp citrus flash—Buddha’s hand—cut into green tuberose stripped of creaminess. Bitter herbs, asphalt, and a dark mineral base bring verticality and structure. No crescendo here—only authority, silent and clean.’ – Premiere Peau
‘Gravitas Capitale stands like a silhouette on asphalt, a fragrance that has nothing to prove—only to exist. Intimidation does not shoot – it imposes itself.’ – Gregoire Balleydier

A quick general introduction, before diving into this specific fragrance. Premiere Peau launched in 2025 and simply based on presentation, aesthetics, but also to some extent, the notes, it immediately caught my attention as one of the most interesting new brands. After wearing them all once, I can say that most of them feel modern. Not as eccentric as I expected; none of them are ‘hard to pull off’ in my opinion; but some of them are on the abstract side, which I appreciate. There’s more sweetness among them than I anticipated. My stand outs on first impression are Doppel Dancers & Rose Monotone.

This one was out of my comfort zone, in that it is rather green, but sweet at the same itme. The opening especially, has a strong dynamic contrast between sparkling, fruity, green lemonade, but at the same time sweet candied bubblegum.

Tuberose, doesn’t really come through here for me, in its flowery facets, but more so as vibrant bubblegum. The execution is very contemporary and so its sweetness, but I do like the opening.

As it dries down, it loses some of the acidity and the sweetness, and it moves into more of a green, grassier shower gel scent. Without the shower gel texture, as it still has some sparkling qualities to it.

Overall, not what I’d usually go for, but I can appreciate it.
