Amouroud is a brand that I’ve had many good experiences with, but until Golden Oud, I’d never smelled one of their more expensive ‘Elixirs’.

Golden Oud opens pretty interesting, with a lot of fruity blackcurrant and a good dose of woody tobacco. I thought it would become a much darker and heavier fragrance than it ultimately becomes. As a matter of fact, this becomes a lot lighter and sweeter. Like a gourmand blackcurrant pie, with a bit of smokiness, but also a floral tinge.

The drydown smells definitely more feminine leaning to my nose and I would probably love smelling this on women.
