The opening is not for the faint of heart. It’s quite strong and immediately it’s more of a spicy amber than the coffee and cacao than my photo might suggest. After a couple of wears, I’m getting used to it, but I remember wearing this for the first time a couple of weeks ago and not liking it straight away.

I get an almost (salty) liquorice vibe from the opening and it’s quite strong. It takes a while to settle down, but Golden Dallah doesn’t get as sweet as many coffee scents. It’s rather on the bitter side and I guess that also applies to the cacao. It exudes a warmth, which gives me the imagine of holding a really hot cup of black coffee, but I’d be lying if I said I would’ve blindly guessed the coffee note. I think if you are used to having spiced coffee, your experience might be different.

If you like coffee scents, this is an interesting one to try. If you like dark amber scents, this might be even more to your liking. It does strike a nice balance to create something that I haven’t smelled before. It will last all day as well (it was a bit warm when I tested it, but I think you’ll find no issues in the colder weather). It’s another great one, but not great enough to crack my absolute favorites of the brand.
