‘Inspired by live jazz; waterfront clubs or escaping to festivals under the sun. Coastal, citrus, woody and notes of a complex fougére. Maybe Californian, maybe Mediterranean. Maybe both. Bon vivant.’ – Sarah Baker
Definitely one of the most conventional, less eccentric Sarah Baker releases that I’ve sampled. A very pleasant citrussy opening, slightly green. Touted as a fougere, but the classical fougere structure is overpowered by citrus in the opening.
This is actually true for the entire wear on my skin. While I get a fougere in here throughout, I find it quite subtle, especially the coumarin facet. For the entire time it wears more like a citrus on me, even a tad aquatic, perhaps more so than fougere. Citrus leans more towards my preference than aromatics, so G Clef gets a thumbs up from me.
