‘The universe is filled with energy from the very first day of its existence, from beings competing relentlessly for survival to atoms of still objects violently jostling one another. Force embodies this vitality and celebrates life with its eccentric fragrance. Italian cypress joins forces with mint, liquorice with cocoa absolute, and Siberian balsam fir with patchouli and leather. Each of the three distinct layers dominates the other two in turn, captivating with a mysterious yet intense woody concoction.’ – Tobba
Force seems to set out as a pretty traditional aromatic or even fougere style fragrance. I get a pine forest, with a lot of mint straight away.
As it dries down, it quickly becomes sweeter. This lists liquorice, which is definitly the vibe I can imagine. It’s simultaneously green, woody and sticky, almost bitter sweet. More like sticky, slightly bubblegummy tree resin than gourmand.
However, the mint is the star of the show. That is, if you love mint, which I have to say, I don’t. It’s a well done mint scent here though, that balances between a cold Winter day in the forest and a toothpaste.
Surprisingly enough, this transitions heavily and becomes rather sweet in the drydown, without the minty or bubblegummy edge. Whereas I didn’t love the opening, this ambery drydown I quite enjoyed.
