‘Sevilla. Gardens of the Alcazar Palace. Evening walk guided by the subtle arpeggios of a flamenco guitar. A luminous néroli. Vibrating, citrusy and woody.’ – L’Orchestre Parfum
This was my first experience with L’Orchestre Parfum and arguably my favorite to date.
They’ve released 6 fragrances at the time of reviewing this, all inspired by a piece of music. Flamenco Néroli is a classy, spiced up neroli fragrance and the neroli itself is bright and fresh, slightly orangey.
As I mentioned, it’s very spicy for a neroli, maybe some cardamom or peppers, but I mainly get a cumin note from it. Not a sweaty or Indian curry cumin, but a sophisticated one as in Cartier Declaration. Combined with the freshness, I get a spiced green tea vibe similar to Atelier Cologne’s Philtre Ceylan, but I think it’s even more refined and fresher here. There are more nondescript florals and a hint of ginger.
Overall, it’s still nice and bright for warm weather, but the neroli’s I’m used to are often quite simple and Flamenco Néroli has a lot more going on. Which makes this possibly my favorite neroli fragrance so far, however in really high heat, I might opt for a simpler, purely fresh neroli like Bulgari Wood Neroli over this one.
