As with my (limited) other experiences with BornToStandOut thus far, the marketing (name, description) is pretty juvenile, but more importantly, incorrect. Fig Porn has nothing to do with ‘untamed’, ‘reckless’, ‘thrilling’ (or ‘porn’ for that matter). This is a tame, transparent fragrance, that is very pleasant, but completely inoffensive.

I don’t get a strong fig scent from the opening, much more the listed pear note. A fruity, citrussy pear with the sweetness of pear coming to the forefront. A subtle hint of florals and a very musky cloud surrounding it. As mentioned, transparent in texture. That’s not to say that it’s fleeting, but it wears light and airy.

After some minutes, you’ll be greeted by a more vanillic sweetness, that starts to takeover the composition. An almost honeyed, vanillic fruity cloud, that wears and smells nicely. I’m reminded of vanilla ice cream, with a tinge of fruity-designer-musk. Very synthetic in the way it comes across, but I really enjoy Fig Porn; it’s just that the marketing feels totally misleading. This is (fruity) vanilla foreplay, not fig porn.
