Essence de Patchouli (not to be mistaken for Patchouli Nosy Be from the same brand) is well… actually quite on par with Patchouli Nosy Be (which is the one I ended up buying instead).

It’s similar on first impression, but then it isn’t. Essence de Patchouli is more floral and it has a berry-like sweetness. Despite being called ‘essence’, this one feels like less of an essential, real patchouli-centric scent. Much less actually, as the whole floral forest comes through in the wear.

I prefer the type of sweetness of Patchouli Nosy Be, hence I bought that, but this one is also quite nice; picture a rose-patch, dipped in custard.
