‘The opening chapter of the Xerjoff story, Elle is the first perfume created for this collection. Deliciously feminine and floral, Elle opens with the most inspiring top notes of Bergamot, lily-of-the-valley and Mediterranean neroli. Oriental in character, this gorgeous scent is inspired by the minerals and semi-precious stones on display at London’s iconic Natural History Museum. A heart of jasmine and Bulgarian rose leads the nose to a comforting base of amber, coumarin and musks.’ – Xerjoff
Elle threw me for a loop a little bit. My first impression was that of opening a bag of pink gummy (you know those candies that look like a set of teeth?). It’s very sweet, slightly floral, but the big surprise here must be the birch (listed as a note on some other sources, but not in the official Xerjoff notes).
I do get an Aventus-esque smoky, yet watery quality, which makes for a really unique combination. It’s not among my favorite Xerjoffs overall, but I do prefer Elle over its Homme counterpart.
