Eau de Mystique is a floral, honey centric fragrance and it’s the first release from the brand. The opening is unlike anything I’ve smelled in a fragrance before, but it smelled a lot like potpourri to me. There’s rose, prunes, mandarin and blood orange and they all smell like dried versions to me.
You get a healthy dose of neroli in the opening, but as soon as that fades away, the honey comes through. This is overall a more floral and bright honey. It definitely gets sweet, but not as much or as rich as Hiram Green Slowdive. It’s also not as pure a honey fragrance as Zoologist Bee. Instead, it’s surrounded by the floral nuances and by incense. It exudes a warmth and it makes for a comforting wear.
With this being an extrait de parfum, it’s on the heavy side despite the scent being quite bright. It lasts all day and it also projects. I personally wasn’t a fan of the initial 30-60 minutes of the wears, but after that, I grew to love it and the potpourri vibe is at least rather unique as far as I’ve come across.
