I’m not quite sure why this is called Dirty Rice. Whereas Nanatopia only has a couple of minutes of banana to my nose, Dirty Rice does have a nice rice scent, but I have no idea where the dirty comes into play. If anything, this is a nice, clean, musky rice-scented body lotion.

As with Nanatopia, not as eccentric or unique as I would’ve hoped based on the premise, but I do really enjoy wearing Dirty Rice. This is a light, lactonic sun-tan lotion or body milk type scent, with a slightly feminine leaning musky cloud surrounding it. I’m wearing it on a humid Summer day and Dirty Rice is a pretty refreshing scent of the day.

It grows a bit floral-musky, but it keeps that lactonic, milky rice note underneath. Rice and coconut milk, hence the connection to the sun tan lotion. Very safe, very pleasant. I’ve seen some comparisons to the Zadig & Voltaire This Is Her (or even some of the This Is Him) releases and I can think it’s because both have a creamy soft woody base. On my skin, it does go powdery, rather than creamy after a while.

Suprisingly safe and therefore perhaps a tad boring, but I thoroughly enjoyed my first impression.
