Demain Promis had the most promising notes from all the Bastille releases for a gourmand lover like myself, although the drydown might take you for a ride.
The milk note especially always gets my attention and it’s very prominent here up front. I initially got milk, tonka and cinnamon, but the cardamom started taking over quite a bit.
As it dries (almost immediately) some greener backdrop starts showing up, with the aromatic notes and the patchouli. It’s more prominent when smelling the skin up close, while in the air it’s mostly a smooth tonka-woody scent, at least for a while.
As it dries down further I kept getting distinct wafts of a bodily, warm skin-scent. Not quite sweaty like cumin, but in that general direction. I would have to wear it more often to see how it steers my opinion of this. The opening I definitely enjoy.
