Déclaration is one of the first fragrances that comes to mind when I think of classy, masculine leaning fragrances that I would recommend, especially for men ages 30 and up.
It’s one of the few fragrances that balances a prominent cumin note just right for me. Cumin is not listed as an official note, but to me it’s one of the defining features of Declaration. It’s a super spicy and dry affair with iris, dry woods, cardamom and a green undertone.
I actually prefer this EDT over the EDP, because I feel it’s less linear. The opening is a bit more spicy and punchy here and definitely overwhelming to my nose, but the drydown is more toned down and I like that transition. In the EDP I feel that the opening is more subtle, but then it remains more similar throughout the wear.
Sidenote: My favorite Declaration is the D’Un Soir flanker.
