‘This creation doesn’t hide how seductive it is – it announces it and refuses to apologize. A huge aromatic punch of Lavender and Tarragon – alongside a pinch of spicy Clove and Cumin for extra invigoration – announce Danger as a truly arresting scent before the creamy tones of Jasmine melt into a mouth-watering Vanilla and Tonka Bean to create a truly indulgent smoothness, which is counterpointed by a sharp zing of Rhubarb and Citrus. The alarmingly addictive wet-earth aspect of Patchouli finds a perfect pairing with a huge note of Cedarwood, which presents a confident strength of character: A man who knows the effect of his seductive prowess, thanks to an animalic dosing of Ambergris and Musk. Dangerous not just for those wearing it, but for those who smell it on them. Aromatic Lemon, Lavender and Tarragon create a fresh and willing invitation, but beware, as sensual aphrodisiacs lurk in the shadows, daring you to breathe it in a little deeper. The sweetness of Vanilla and Jasmine contrast against the dry, earthy warmth of Cedarwood and Patchouli, tempting you to lean in a little closer, and succumb. Just remember, you have been warned…’ – Roja Parfums
This is not my favorite style of fragrances and these fougere-ish scents tend not to end up in my permanent collection. Neither will Danger, as I got it through swap, with the intent of passing it on, but I have to say, I like it better than I remember doing after smelling it some years ago.
Danger Parfum Cologne is a pretty standard, but high quality soapy aftershave-ish scent profile, with spices, lavender and oakmoss among other things. It’s mature and I wouldn’t call it a freshie; the spices are notable and there is quite a bit of amber in the base, making for a warmer and somehwat sweeter edge.
The overall profile is green, maybe even a tad herbal, with the distinct hint of lavender up top. Danger is often compared to Guerlain Heritage, but the Roja wears more modern to me; it’s smoother and almost creamy at its core, which is also my favorite aspect of this fragrance.
Not too shabby and definitely one of the better Parfum Colognes from Roja. That being said; I’d prefer the more soapy and slightly animalic Nicolai New York Intense or Tom Ford Beau de Jour (including the well-done 2020 reformulation) over Danger Parfum Cologne, especially given its price point.
