Atelier Materi is a beautiful, artistic, but subtle brand. My only gripe is that their fragrances mostly underperform. Cuir D’Iris is unfortunately my least favorite from their line on first impression.

Cuir D’Iris is often compared to Dior Homme Intense, but I get a stronger leather in it. More importantly, there’s a greener, earthier tinge with a slight nutty quality. It comes across like leather covered in soil and grass, which is not something I was prepared for, nor do I love it.

It’s a good fragrance, but it didn’t suit me and I much prefer others from the house, like Cacao Porcelana, Poivre Pomelo and Santal Blond.
