When I tried this fragrance for the first time, was when I learned that saffron comes from a type of crocus flower. So this is centered around saffron. To be honest, most saffron heavy scents that I’m familiar with remind me of Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, but this one deviates quite a bit and it’s stunning.
With Crocus you get a very floral suede vibe, with no rough edges. It’s really well-rounded and soft, yet powerful. The texture feels dry, though not overly powdery and it’s ever so slightly smokey and orangey. It gives me the imagery of a brand-new high-end suede bag. With more of an earthy floral touch.
Crocus feels sophisticated and perfectly unisex, so this could suit a lot of people. At the time of reviewing, you can pick this up only at Senteurs D’Ailleurs as it’s an exclusive release for the Brussels’ store, for €250/100ml, which is justifiable for what you get in quality.
