      CRIMINAL LIPSTICK (2025) • SIMONE ANDREOLI🔺, ScentAdvice

To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever been impressed by any of the Simone Andreoli fragrances and Criminal Lipstick is no different. Which is too bad, because I think the scent profile here has a lot of potential; the way it feels and wears just doesn’t work for me.

I wore Criminal Lipstick alongside Vyrao Ludatrix, which seems to have a similar-ish theme. Ludatrix could’ve used something to break up its minimal and dry vibe, which on paper, Criminal Lipstick seems to do. However, upon wearing both, it becomes clear early on that there are stark differences in the way these fragrances are constructed. Criminal Lipstick almost instantly feels musky, airy and with the prominent fruitiness, it becomes a tart fruity hairspray or roomspray to me.

As mentioned, the scent profile has intrigue; especially the fig that comes through. I would think I’d like the combination of notes here, but it all boils down to the way they come across and in the case of Criminal Lipstick, it all feels artificial, watery or airy, screechy or tart. It never feels like a mix fig oil, iris root and vanilla bean, but like a blend of derivatives of each; fig hairspray, faint watered down iris and a generic sweetness. It comes across as plasticy and kitschy from start to finish.
