‘Close your eyes and imagine a beautiful garden full of blooming flowers. That’s exactly how the Emanuel Ungaro Cosmic Eau de Parfum for women smells, which makes every day shine playfully with its floral notes.’ – Emanuel Ungaro
Unfortunately, this fragrance has one the worst openings that I’ve encountered in a while. It’s a bitter, musky hairspray or even bug spray. I found it nearly unwearable for the first moments. It’s a type of airy, tart and bitter fruitiness that’s been done a lot in 2024, a trend that I hope fades quickly.
After a while, it sweetens up substantially. Not really anything interesting, mostly just a non-descript sweetness. As it dries, a spicier, patchouli-sweet base comes through, which makes the drydown the only part of the fragrance that I actually enjoyed, more than I initially expected given the bad start. Still, not a fragrance to write home about (or a longer review for).
