Coco Mademoiselle is a very recognizable scent, even if I never smelled it on purpose; perhaps on others, but it also reminds me of shampoos.
The openings smells like orange and orange blossom, very floral to me. Ylang Ylang coming on strong as well. It’s rather sweet and slightly tropical.
Moreove, it’s dry and powdery. Very sharp and zesty. To me, it smells a bit retro or sure, but at the same time playful with how sweet it is. Honestly, everyone seems to talk about how elegant it is, but I don’t really get that vibe from it; it feels almost unbalanced; sweet, sour, sharp, bitter. Rather shouty and loud.
I’ve seen reviews saying it’s mature and for older people, but to me this feels like an upper-level scent, but perfectly suitable for a teenager or people in their twenties. Not that that’s a negative per se, but it’s not what I expected based on what I heard about it and it’s definitely not one of the most classy scents in my opinion; for me personally to wear, I’d say it gets a bit too cloying.
I don’t get much of the patchouli, despite that being one of its key featured supposedly; this feels overly floral and citrussy on my skin, with a lot of high frequency notes and not much of a noticeable base.
Not one of my favorites from Chanel and I had higher expectations of it than my experience on first wearing.
