Close Up gave me some issues, especially in the opening. It’s a medicinal, cherry tobacco with spices and sweetness. The opening feels a bit messy in the same way Mancera Red Tobacco does to me.
It’s also very strong, I get something skanky, like a barnyardy oud or an animalic tinge in the first minutes that threw me off a bit. Luckily, it becomes much more pleasant after settling in, but it’s still not my favorite. I like the sweet tobaccos, but this one feels quite medicinal and to my nose it smells like there’s an animalic suede accord hidden underneath. There’s a milkiness in there, which I think might be the coffee, but somehow it doesn’t work for me. Unfortunately, this was a no go for me when I tested it.
