Another lovely scent from Aedes de Venustas, a house with few misses anno 2024. Cierge de Lune is up there with my favorite scents by them, albeit a fragrance that smells familiar.
Cierge de Lune has that Guerlainade-like sweet accord. Warm spices, a lot of vanilla, a powdery texture, almost hidden florals. Super cozy and comfortable.
It instantly reminds me of Byredo Seven Veils (and to some extent Casamorati Bouquet Ideale). I’d say that the Aedes de Venustas is the cleanest, most baby-powdery take on the DNA between those, but it has a similar sweet spiciness.
Pink pepper and black pepper are listed, but I smell a lot of cinnamon. Some almond-tonka mixed with the sweetness, including that almost imperceptible suede tinge that comes with it.
As mentioned, it has a baby-powdery tinge, but it’s overpowered by sweetness, at times reminding me of the Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille sweetness. You can feel it underneath the whole time however, with a white muskiness in the base.
Overall, it’s smooth, it’s cozy. One of the easiest profiles to enjoy.
