Champaca Supercritique was a very different fragrance than I was expecting. Different from my (limited) experience with champaca, but also different from my (somewhat limited) experience with Les Eau Primordiales. It is less floral and less subtle.

The opening instantly reminded me of one of my favorite scent profiles; that of Serge Lutens Feminite Du Bois. Plum, spices and woods. Very similar for a moment, but the Champaca Supercritique is brighter and sweeter.

And this continues. Instead of growing darker, after the opening, I found it to go very fruity and sweet. Like candy, bubblegum or lemonade. I also found it quite loud in its projection, making for a completely different wearing experience than for example the mature Feminite Du Bois.

I enjoyed it though, albeit that it’s not quite up my alley as much as I thought it was going to be.
