Celadon is a fragrance that I am surprised to say I quite like. It’s green, full-on, grassy, herbal green and that’s rarely my jam, yet I can appreciate this.
The basil-tomato leaf vibe here is there, but not too strong. It adds enough sweetness to be considered comforting, taking away some of the tart, bitter grassy tones in Celadon for me. The opening is quite refreshing. No citrus is listed in the notes, but my mind went to lime from the get-go and I felt that a lime-esque citrus note was prominent throughout the first hour.
It’s pretty straight-forward from that point. Green, leafy, grassy, herbal. You can picture the tea accord, but the end-result doesn’t really smell like any tea that I’m familiar with drinking. This is more of a herbal, fresh smoothie. It smells healthy and it invigorating, more so than calming.
The drydown, perhaps is more on the calming side. Smelling like a warmer, but still herbal, skin scent. Almost aquatic a touch as well. I definitely don’t get smoky notes or strong florals like tuberose or an outspoken rose. This is a musky, soft drydown that’s very pleasant.
