Bonne Fortune is one of the better, classy citrus fragrances that I’ve come across. It is at the same time a very citrus-centric and seems to be a relatively simple composition, but also one one that doesn’t smell like the average fresh, watery or ozonic citrus.
Texture is the name of the game here, because to my nose this is a really creamy, almost sherbet-like citrus. There’s grapefruit, bergamot and mandarin listed for the fruits, but you also get a lot of ginger and mint, which to me creates more of a cocktail/drink like experience.
Maybe most importantly is the clean, soapy vetiver. Straight from the opening, but even more so once the sharpness of the citrus fades, this is a (in my opinion masculine leaning) vetiver fragrance. Close to a Tom Ford Grey Vetiver, so light, fresh and clean, but with even more citrus. It has a hint of a classic ‘cologne’, but definitely modernized. Some sweetness from tonka comes through eventually, but it stays a fresher fragrance.
I would consider this a clean office fragrance, done at a high level. Performance is moderate from what I can tell so far, but the scent is beautiful. It’s totally inoffensive, mature and versatile.
