‘THE INSPIRATION The quest for Blouse Extrait de Parfum 68 Rose was inspired by a rebellious piece: the see-through blouse. The first of its kind. Originally a simple farmer’s smock, Yves Saint Laurent transformed it into an icon of liberation – a daring creation that redefined femininity. This fragrance embodies that audacity, a revolutionary spirit, forever captured in a bottle. The year is 1968. At the height of the sexual revolution, a cultural shift sweeps through fashion. Yves Saint Laurent unveils the see-through blouse in his Spring-Summer collection, a scandalous yet captivating design. More than a garment, it is a statement. Revealing the female form with unprecedented impertinence through its diaphanous fabric. It challenged conventions, igniting a cultural firestorm. On the runway, model Danielle Sauvajeon embodies this new era of feminine expression. The blouse becomes an instant icon. It sparks both admiration for its daring attitude and controversy for its challenge to the status quo. The nude look finds its ultimate expression. The essence of an era reborn in Blouse Extrait de Parfum 68 Rose. THE OLFACTION The macerated Rose evokes a grand cru of perfumery. A juice crafted by Perfumer Quentin Bisch. Blouse Extrait de Parfum reveals a rose laid bar, its green stem captured within the crisp, freshness of a green vegetal accord, enhanced by resinous and balsamic tones. The radiant tangy citrus of bergamot adds a vibrant touch to the opening. Each carefully selected ingredient expressing the naked body unveiled by Yves Saint Laurent’s impertinent blouse. In the heart, a quartet of roses unfolds. Each adding a unique nuance to this olfactory masterpiece. The fresh, airy Rose accord from the Ourika Community Gardens, bathed in morning dew, blends with the rich, enveloping Rose Absolute. While the spicy Rose Damascena Essence adds depth. Inspired by the time-honored traditions of cognac crafting, a unique maceration process steeps the precious Rose Centifolia Absolute with carefully selected French Oak wood. This 4-week long aging process allows the rose to absorb the tannins and woody notes of the oak, creating a warm, sensual depth. The oak shavings are chosen for their round, and soft vanilla aromatic potential, which contrasts with the rose’s honeyed sweetness without overpowering its delicate floral character. The textured facets of a rare vegetal musk, a precious ambrette absolute crafted especially for the brand, envelops the naked rose. The refined violet nuances of Iris pallida butter brush its petals with delicate powder. The base reveals an expansive blend of amber woods, enhanced by a sophisticated Georgywood, which adds warmth, texture, and a touch of vetiver. The earthy, herbal whisper of angelica seed completes this captivating composition.’ – YSL
‘Inspired once again by the timeless elegance of Yves Saint Laurent’s blouse, I wanted to create an extrait that transcends the original fragrance to unveil a more majestic, audacious, and fabulous version. To do so, I carefully composed a quartet of roses with exceptional qualities, each one bringing a unique nuance to this new opus.’ – Quentin Bisch
