As frankly has been the case with all of the twentysecondofmay releases, I much prefer the opening over the drydown here.
Bee’s Home sets off quite pronounced, seemingly focusing (as one would expect with its name) heavily on the honey. But instantly, you can sense that this is not your average, gourmand, super-sweet honey fragrance. The real gourmand in this collection is found in Roots Of Kente, whereas Bee’s Home feels more like a honey in an outdoorsy setting like a hay field.
There is of course a sweetness to the honey and some of the surrounding, but there is also a tangy quality. There’s florals and mandarin listed; blindly I would’ve guessed that there may be some ginger in here, giving it that tangy bite.
The drydown is more subtle, but also loses a lot of its flavor. Not as harsh to me as in Sunbeds & Daydreams, but they were the two that I ended up liking a lot less by the end of the wear. I’d have to try this again to see exactly when this shift happens and how long of a time I enjoy it; it’s solid, but not my favorite from the brand.
